Our Story
It all started on a warm, sunny summer afternoon of 2018. We're in New York City. Inspired and ready for change.
After relocating from Miami to New York, I found myself reminiscing about my ex-tropical paradise while dining at one of my favorite vegan brunch spots, Planta Queen. Sitting with my thoughts, I started thinking about the demanding intensity of my new "Big Girl /NYC" career and the relentless pursuit of taking our Beauty House public. That dream of the idilic NYC life swiftly transformed into a chaotic routine of 80+ hour work weeks, sharp deadlines, and demanding expectations. making me wonder :
#1. Why did I EVER leave Miami?
#2. How I could possibly balance starting a family AND building a life in this vibrant city with all this on my plate?
I realized very quickly after moving up here that something needed to shift, and quick.
And just like that ( many hard conversations and much bravery later)... my Love+Light Salon Studio baby was born!
She started as a little beauty studio in Wilton, CT. An intimate, 100 sqft of space that fit just 1 styling chair and 1 sink. For the clients that have been with us since the very begining, we will always remember that "tiny home". She was tiny, but she was mighty. All of the constant demands of our lives were left at the door, and the moment you sat down it all stayed out there. The stories we told, the bonds and connections we made, all the memories that it held. I knew that I was doing something different for people, and I wanted it to grow beyond me. It was all just beginning, and I could feel I was onto something quite spectacular.
My dreams were never of salon ownership, but rather for community connection and a place to call home. A place where I could lead the future stylists of our generations to new heights that they never imagined are even possible for themselves. After my demand behind the chair grew so big, I knew it was time to share the Love+Light magic beyond myself. It had to hold space for all of us and then some. It had to be just right. It was time to grow and time to show up as a leader and a mentor.
And here we find ourselves, all these years later, in our exceptional home at 8 Main St.
We are located on a tiny little road, with very little WiFi and tons of natural light. Plenty of parking. Super convenient location. And the best part: We are a hidden little gem where you can feel so close to home and yet so far away from all that the world demands of you. We have curated a space for you to experience true connection, care, and love from complete strangers, that very quickly will feel like family. A place that feels like places used to feel in the 90s, where everyone was welcoming and kind, no one owned a cell phone, and "living in the moment" was second nature. A true community of good energy.
